What is biltong?
Biltong is a form of dried, cured meat that originated in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia. It is a traditional snack that is over 400 years old, cured in a unique and highly nutritious way. Ember biltong are savoury strips of British and Irish grass-fed beef, lightly seasoned with herbs and spices. Ember biltong was recently recognised with a 2* Great Taste award for its outstanding quality.

Ember sources from a small number of key independent suppliers that share their passion for the highest animal welfare. Ember have great relationships with their suppliers who are part of Red Tractor and Origin Ireland, high grade farm assurance schemes. Ember have also created their own welfare checklist to maintain the highest standards possible.
The Ember brothers
As part of their Ironman training, the Ember brothers were always struggling for something to snack on that was genuinely tasty and had all the health credentials to go with it. So they went back to their country roots and created Ember to meet their needs and keep their hunger at bay.
