**Attention, first event in the series is this Sunday and we’re offering a rather nifty 70% off all entries. Scroll down the page for the discount code!**

We’re  rather excited to be a part of this cool, new UK event.  StreetVelodrome is the the ONLY pop-up track cycling cycle event in the WORLD!
Starting in Stevenage this Sunday, StreetVelodrome will be bringing their pop-up racing series to six different towns and cities over the next 2 months and SportPursuit are going to be there every step (revolution?) of the way.

What to expect in Round 1 on Sunday

On Sunday 8th June, there will be a new addition to the streets of Stevenage – a pop-up velodrome equipped with banked corner units, safety barriers and start line gantry.  The crowds will be cheering, the sun will (hopefully) be shining and cyclists will be racing.

Teams consisting of both pros and amateurs will be pushing themselves to the limit in 60 second sprints around the track.  Riders will race in preliminary rounds to secure spots in the finals.  Pro cyclists that have signed up so far include French international Alexandre Blain and pro freestyle BMX rider Keelan Phillips.

To keep the playing field even, all racers will be riding on steel framed, single speed Mango Bikes equipped with brakes and dropped handlebars.  As much as we love a bit of fancy cycling kit at SportPursuit, this event is not about the bike or the bib shorts.  It’s all about fun, healthy competition and the glory – of the streets!

Want to be a part of Sunday’s event?

Online event entry is open but places are filling fast, so sign up quick! As a special saving for all SportPursuit members, we’re offering 70% discount on race entries. With the discount, senior entry is only £6.60 and youth entry (age 14 – 24) is only £3.60! Just enter SPSV70 at online registration checkout.

If you want to attend as a spectator, it’s completely free and there is 100% visibility of the velodrome.  Just show up on the day and soak up the atmosphere.  Exciting news is that Channel 4 will be recording footage of the event for broadcasting later in the year, so being in the crowd might mean seeing your beautiful face on TV sometime in the future!
